Welcome to the New Linen Society: A Legacy of Luxury and Quality in Home Textiles

Tim O'Hearn |

Welcome to the newly redesigned linensociety.com! While we've been serving our customers online for nearly twenty years, our new site reflects a fresh approach, thanks to the incredible team at Pattern in Berkeley, California, and our dedicated in-house team of linen enthusiasts. Here, our mission is simple yet sophisticated: to bring the finest quality bedding, towels, and luxury linens into your home with elegance, ease, and exceptional customer care.

I’m Tim O’Hearn, founder and curator of all things Linen Society since 1995. Over the past thirty years, I’ve built this business on a passion for quality and beauty in textiles, and I feel fortunate to continue that legacy today. As we introduce this new website, I invite you to learn more about who we are, what we offer, and why we believe luxury linens aren’t just about style—they’re about creating timeless comfort that elevates daily life.

Our Roots: A People-First Business

At Linen Society, we’re more than just purveyors of beautiful textiles. We’re a people-centered business, which means that our customers and team are the heart of everything we do. We aim to create a relaxed, approachable shopping experience that prioritizes genuine connections over pretension or high-pressure sales. My goal has always been for customers to feel at ease, guided by knowledgeable staff who share our vision for quality and accessible luxury.

A West Coast Legacy: Our Stores

Our presence spans the West Coast, where each location brings a unique experience in home textiles.

Portland, Oregon

Our flagship store is nestled in the Pearl District, merging two beloved stores—French Quarter Linens, our first store and the starting point for Linen Society, and Manor Fine Wares, which we acquired a decade ago. Though rebranding under Linen Society, we’re proud to carry on the rich history of these local names and their contributions to Portland’s design landscape.

San Francisco, California

Samuel Scheuer is an icon in Union Square, with roots stretching back to 1935 when it was founded by Samuel himself. In 2011, I had the honor of acquiring this historic store from his grandson, Mark Scheuer, and we’re committed to preserving its heritage while serving a loyal clientele of locals and visitors alike.

West Hollywood, California

Grande Maison is our West Coast destination for design aficionados, serving a diverse community of homeowners, interior designers, and estate managers. Located in the heart of West Hollywood’s design district, it’s where style, sophistication, and practicality converge to create spaces that reflect the tastes of the most discerning clients, including those with well-known names.

A Personal Vision: Our Future and Commitment

Today, I’m fortunate to work with a stellar management team, allowing me to focus on creative development and product design. I travel extensively to source unique fabrics, discover emerging textile innovations, and draw inspiration from cultures around the world. I look forward to sharing these journeys with you here on our blog, as well as insights into upcoming collections and design trends that shape the luxury bedding industry.

Your feedback is invaluable to us. Please don’t hesitate to email me directly to share your experiences and insights as we continue to shape Linen Society together.

Thank you for being a part of our story. We’re honored to be part of yours.

Warmly,

Tim O’Hearn
