As we all know, there’s a lot of talk (and confusion) right now about new tariffs being applied to imported goods—especially those coming from Europe, where most of our products originate.
Thankfully, we’re not in the business of aluminum, steel, or cars—and we work with only one supplier who sources silk from China, the country currently facing the highest tariffs. That said, with so much uncertainty swirling around when and how tariffs will be applied, it’s nearly impossible to make concrete plans about future pricing or supply chains just yet.
What we can say, and always stand by, is our commitment to offering products of authentic, lasting quality—the very best in every category we carry. And we remain equally committed to fair pricing, both for our customers and in our partnerships with the artisans and producers who make what we sell.
We also want to reassure you: we have large inventories already in our Portland, Oregon warehouse, and those products are already paid for. Even with current tariffs—mostly hovering between 7% and 9%—and the possibility of a small increase to 10%, we do not plan to raise our prices at this time.
Looking ahead, we’ll continue working closely with our suppliers to ensure that any new tariff-related costs are shared fairly—and not simply passed on to you.
Our founder, Tim O’Hearn, is currently in the middle of a three-week trip around the world, visiting our producers on three continents. He’s meeting face-to-face to better understand these upcoming challenges—from tariffs and freight costs to broader supply chain pressures—and, just as importantly, to strengthen the personal relationships that make this business what it is.
We know none of this is easy, and we’re incredibly grateful for your support and continued loyalty. Thanks for standing with us—we’re proud to do what we do, and we’re honored to do it for you.
Warmly,
The Linen Society Team
