Special Orders, Returns, Cancellation Policies

At Linen Society, we are committed to helping you love every selection you make and to ensuring it’s the perfect fit for your home. To support your confidence in each purchase, we are pleased to offer cuttings and samples upon request—please contact us before placing your order so we can assist you in making the best possible choice.

We’re a people business and review every request individually, always communicating with care. However, most of our products are made-to-order and cannot be returned, exchanged, or canceled after 1 business day.


Returns & Exchanges

In-Stock Items
In-stock items are ready-made and available on our shelves (not made-to-order or custom).

  • Returns may be requested within 30 days of delivery if items are unused, non-laundered, free of animal hair, free of odors (including but not limited to cigarette smoke, perfume, or other scents), and in new, shelf-ready condition, in original packaging.

  • All returns require prior authorization; unauthorized returns cannot be accepted.

  • A 20% restocking fee applies to all approved returns.

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs, including insurance.

  • Credits and refunds are issued once the product is received by Linen Society, inspected, and approved; you can expect your refund within 15 days of our receipt of the return.

Exchanges
We are happy to help with exchanges for eligible in-stock items. Some restrictions may apply. Please contact us at hello@linensociety.com to initiate your exchange and let us know which item you would like instead. We will ship your replacement as soon as your original return is received, inspected, and approved.

Product Condition Standards for Returns & Exchanges

  • Items must be unused and non-laundered

  • Free of animal hair

  • Free of odors, including but not limited to cigarette smoke, perfume, or other scents

  • In original packaging and shelf-ready condition, as received

  • Furniture and lighting must be inspected for any damage or blemishes within 7 days of delivery, and any issues reported to us immediately

Items returned with any odor, including smoke or perfume, will not be accepted.

Brand and Product Restrictions
Certain brands and products are not eligible for return or exchange. Please refer to individual product pages or contact us for details on manufacturer-specific return policies. The following brands are currently ineligible for return or exchange:
Arteriors, Bella Notte, Celso de Lemos, Christian Fischbacher, De Medici, DEA, Eastern Accents, Home Treasures, Kevin O’Brien, Legacy Home, Mike & Ally, Missoni Home, Peter Reed, Royal Pedic, Ryan Studio, Schlossberg, St Geneve, Downright, Down Town, Pigeon and Poodle.
Gift Cards are also non-returnable.


Special Order, Custom & Made-to-Order Items
Many of our offerings are considered special order, meaning they are crafted, finished, or sourced specifically for you and are not kept in stock—either in our own inventory or with our purveyor. Special order items include anything not available for immediate shipment from our shelf or the manufacturer's warehouse.

Because these products are created or reserved just for you, all items labeled “Special Order,” “Made to Order,” custom, monogrammed, or otherwise personalized are considered final sale and cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged after 1 business day, except in the rare event of a verified manufacturer’s defect.

We encourage you to request cuttings or samples in advance to ensure your selection is just right. Our team is always here to answer any questions and help you find the perfect piece for your home.


Clearance & Sale Items
All clearance, sale, and discounted items are final sale and not eligible for return, exchange, or cancellation.

Final Sale: Bedding, Mattresses & Hygiene Products
Due to health and safety regulations, the following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged once shipped or picked up in-store:

  • Sleeping pillows

  • Duvets & comforters

  • Feather beds

  • Down bedding

  • Mattress and pillow protectors

  • Mattresses

This policy is in accordance with state and local health regulations and industry standards, and helps us protect the safety of all customers.


Out of Stock Items

While we do our best to keep our online assortment up to date, it is possible for items to sell out or become unavailable after you place your order. Should an item be unavailable, we will inform you via email as soon as possible and provide the estimated arrival time as provided by the purveyor or discuss alternative options. Please note, restock timelines are estimates and are subject to change.


Credit Card Policy

We accept all major credit cards. Your card is charged in full when your order is processed. If changes need to be made to your order, or if there is an issue with processing your payment, you will be notified promptly. Orders are only processed and shipped once payment is successfully received.


Price Matching

We are happy to match the current price on identical merchandise offered by verified retailers at the time of your purchase. To request a price match, please provide the competitor’s website address, advertisement, or email showing the product name, style, color, number, dimensions, price, and current date.

  • The item must be new, in original packaging, and available for immediate shipment from both retailers.

  • Price matches are not available from auction sites, marketplaces such as eBay or Craigslist, or any unverified sources.

  • Price matches are only available at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retroactively.


Price Adjustments

We do not offer price adjustments on prior purchases should an item go on sale or change in price after your order is placed. This policy is standard across the industry and helps us maintain fairness and consistency for all customers.


Perfectly Imperfect

At Linen Society, we celebrate the beauty and character that comes from handcrafted and artisanal goods. Many of our products—especially natural fabrics—are living, breathing creations. Perfection is impossible, and each piece is shaped by the unique qualities of its materials, the artistry of its makers, and even the environment in which it is crafted.

You may notice subtle differences in color, texture, weave, or detail, and these variations—up to 5% in color or pattern—are entirely natural. Light, humidity, fiber content, and hand-finishing techniques can all play a role. These are not defects, but rather, a reflection of the human touch and the organic nature of what we do.

Slight imperfections are a hallmark of handmade work and a sign of authenticity, reflecting the “perfectly imperfect” artistry that distinguishes every item we offer. We believe this individuality brings warmth and soul into your home, and we hope you cherish these special details as much as we do.

Please note: These natural variations and minor imperfections are not considered defects and are not eligible for return or exchange.
